Why larger homes need more than a sensor
Size works against you. A leak in an unused guest suite or a lower-level mechanical room can go unnoticed for days, and finishes in a high-value home make every hour of water more expensive to put right.
Many estates are looked after by more than one person — owners who travel, a property manager, a caretaker — and an alert that reaches only one of them is an alert that can be missed.
How Safehous protects an estate
In-line flow sensing and automatic shut-off on the main supply, with point-of-leak sensors in each mechanical room, bathroom and appliance zone. LoRa reaches more than 300 ft indoors, and repeaters carry the network out to a pool house, garage or guest cottage.
Alerts go by text, email or voice call to everyone who needs them, and access can be set person by person — a caretaker can see alerts and operate the valve without changing settings. Safehous is on Chubb’s list of recommended water leak detection and shut-off devices for homes.

Works with your pool, irrigation and water treatment
Pools, irrigation and water treatment systems use water on their own schedule — and to a flow sensor, water moving when nobody is home can look like a leak. We lay out the installation so it doesn’t.
The Safehous valve goes on the main supply, straight after your manual shut-off and ahead of everything else. Water treatment — filters and softeners — comes after the valve, and the in-line flow sensor goes after the treatment equipment, on the supply to the house. The flow sensor watches only the water your home uses, so a softener regenerating or a filter backwashing isn’t mistaken for a leak. A rope or puck floor sensor beside the treatment equipment covers it if it ever fails. On irrigation and pool filler lines, the flow sensor is installed after the line’s tee for the same reason.
Any alarm, from the flow sensor or a floor sensor, closes the valve — shutting off the water to the treatment system and the whole house.
