What We Collect, and What We Do With It.
This site is run by Safehous Systems Canada. We sell water leak detection to condominium corporations and strata councils, which means most of what we hold is ordinary business contact information — a name, an email address, and a description of a building. This page sets out exactly what is collected, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect when you ask us for a quote
The quote form on this site asks for your name, your email address, the city and province the building is in, and a description of the building. Your phone number, your role, and the approximate number of suites are optional — the form works without them.
We collect this because you are asking us to prepare an assessment or a quote, and we cannot do that without knowing who you are and what building you are asking about. We use it to reply to you, to scope the work, and to keep our own record of the enquiry.
If you phone or email us instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that conversation, for the same reason.
What we collect automatically
Server logs. Our host records the usual technical details of a request — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. This is standard for any website, and we use it to keep the site available and to investigate abuse.
Bot protection. The quote form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. It issues a token that our server verifies. It is not used to identify you or to track you across sites.
Your cookie choice. If you accept or decline advertising measurement, that choice is stored in your own browser. It is not sent to us and it is not attached to your name.
Cookies and advertising measurement
This site uses no analytics and no advertising cookies unless you accept them.
If you accept, we load the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that a browser visited a page on this site, and — if you submit the quote form — that a lead was submitted. We use this to measure whether our advertising reaches the councils and property managers we are trying to reach. Meta sets its own cookies when the pixel is active and handles that data under its own policies.
If you decline, the pixel does not run and no advertising cookies are set. Nothing on this site is withheld from you for declining. You can change your mind at any time using the control at the bottom of this page.
We do not use advertising measurement to make any decision about you individually. It tells us how many people responded to an advertisement, not who you are.
Third parties that handle data for us
Cloudflare hosts this site and provides the bot protection on the form.
Google provides the Workspace account our enquiries arrive in — a quote request reaches us as an email and a row in a private spreadsheet. This site also loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads, whether or not you accept advertising measurement.
Meta Platforms receives advertising measurement data, and only if you have accepted it.
These are service providers, not buyers. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we are dealing with the enquiry, and afterwards as part of our ordinary business records — a council that asked for a quote in one budget year often comes back in the next, and we would rather not ask you for the same information twice.
If you would like your details removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your rights
Under Canadian federal privacy law you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to advertising measurement at any time.
Write to us and we will respond. We do not charge for this, and we will not ask you to explain why.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy question, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
